The double “A” rating is great recognition for the work all our colleagues do to constantly build a more sustainable company and strengthens our ambition to reach net-zero emissions across our value chain by 2040.

This result builds on recognition for Coca-Cola HBC from other respected sustainability surveys and indexes such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the MSCI ESG Indexes, FTSE Russell’s ESG Ratings and the ISS-Oekom Corporate Rating.

Net zero by 2040

In October 2021, Coca-Cola HBC committed to achieving net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2040. The company has created a robust action plan and will invest EUR 250 million in emissions reduction initiatives by 2025. Via an existing, science-based target, the company will reduce its emissions along the whole value chain and in partnership approach with suppliers. Wherever emissions cannot be eliminated entirely, the business will mitigate these by investing in other climate protection measures.

In Switzerland, Coca-Cola HBC is working continuously to reduce the amount of resources used in its drinks production and the emissions generated by its business activities. Innovative technologies and materials are used to further reduce its ecological impact in a sustainable and circular economic way. For example, CCHBC Switzerland is constantly working to reduce the weight of its packaging and increase its use of recycled materials, which has positive effects on plastic use and transportation.
