Since 2016, the cooperation between the two companies has been growing continuously. Now they are jointly sending a strong signal for the future: Camion Transport is replacing the entire vehicle fleet used for Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland with state-of-the-art battery-electric trucks. The first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 joined the existing electric fleet as early as 23 July 2025, and two more will follow by the end of August. By 2026, twelve of these vehicles are to be on the road for Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland, and by 2030 more than thirty.
"Cooperation as a driver of innovation, only together can we move forward," says Josef Jäger, Director of Camion Transport. "With Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland, we have a partner who shares our sustainability goals and takes responsibility. In this way, we are driving forward the decarbonisation of distribution throughout Switzerland." At the same time, Camion Transport is investing, among other things, in high-performance charging infrastructure at central locations – an equally crucial building block on the way to its company-wide net zero by 2050 goal.
The ambitious partnership is also considered a pioneering project within the Coca-Cola HBC Group: The consistent electrification of heavy goods transport, combined with the already electrified sales fleet, the constant optimization of transport routes and the shift from road to rail, sets very high standards. One of the biggest challenges in supply chains is indirect emissions from sources that are not self-controlled. Camion Transport and Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland are meeting this challenge together: With the electrified fleet and optimized routes, significant greenhouse gas savings are to be achieved.
For Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland, the cooperation is a key lever for contributing to the achievement of the Coca-Cola HBC Group target of "NetZero-by-40". Jürg Burkhalter, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland, emphasizes: "We can only achieve our sustainability goals with strong partners like Camion Transport. After the complete electrification of our sales fleet in 2024, we are now taking the next step. This cooperation proves that ambitious targets and consistent implementation not only reduce emissions, but also noticeably advance sustainable logistics in Switzerland."
Camion Transport has been a reliable transport and logistics partner of Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland for almost ten years. An original outsourcing has developed into a trusting, growth-oriented cooperation – characterized by operational excellence and a common commitment to sustainability. The recently extended contract until 2030 with a clear pledge to full decarbonisation impressively underlines this commitment: an investment in the future that has an impact far beyond the companies.
Josef Jäger and Jürg Burkhalter summarize it as follows: "Moving forward together and setting standards – that is what drives us. We can only achieve net zero side by side."
