New state-of-the-art High-Bay Warehouse: Coca-Cola HBC Invests CHF 35 Million in its Brüttisellen Site

Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland AG is investing around CHF 35 million in the construction of a new state-of-the-art high-bay warehouse in Brüttisellen. The project is both a clear commitment to Switzerland as a production location and a strategic investment in a sustainable future.

New state-of-the-art High-Bay Warehouse

Coca-Cola has been produced in Switzerland since 1936. With this new investment of around CHF 35 million in its Brüttisellen production site, Coca-Cola HBC once again underlines its continued contribution to local value creation.  By 2027, the high-bay warehouse will be completed on site, boosting logistics efficiency and ensuring long-term supply security for consumers nationwide.  This major infrastructure project complements recent investments in a new rPET production line and our cooperation with Camion Transport to transition to etruck delivery.

“This investment strengthens our long-standing presence here at the Brüttisellen site,” says Jürg Burkhalter, General Manager, Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland. “We are securing local jobs, increasing resilience in our supply chain, and ensuring that we can continue to produce beverages for Switzerland in Switzerland while delivering best-in-class services to all our customers — today and in the future.”

The high-bay warehouse (approximately 80 meters long, 42 meters wide, and 40 meters high) will be used to store and distribute filled beverages and returnable containers.  It will be built as an extension of our existing production facility and will create new skilled roles and strengthen Coca-Cola HBC's presence in the community. Thanks to its large storage capacity, distribution will be handled centrally in the future, allowing for more direct deliveries to customers.

“The new high-bay warehouse marks a major step forward in our supply chain operations,” says Adrian Fritz, Supply Chain Director, Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland. “Its integration with our production systems will significantly enhance warehouse management efficiency and product traceability—delivering fresh, high-quality beverages with enhanced reliability and responsiveness to market needs.”

Beyond operational benefits, the warehouse has been designed in line with high sustainability standards and supports Coca-Cola HBC’s long-term sustainability strategy. Centralized storage and cutting-edge intralogistics infrastructure will help further reduce the company’s carbon footprint by minimizing transport distances and eliminating the need for separate heating, cooling, and lighting. The building will also be integrated into a landscape architecture concept aimed at enhancing biodiversity, including vertical green façades and extensive rooftop vegetation.

“Through close collaboration with our building and logistic partners AFRY (construction planning) and System Logistics (intralogistics), local authorities, and the community, we succeeded in developing a building that is both functional and environmentally sound.” says Milan Jelínek, Project Lead, Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland.

Marlies Dürst, Mayor of Wangen-Brüttisellen Municipality adds: "The investment by Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland AG is a strong signal for Brüttisellen as an attractive business and production location. This project demonstrates how location promotion, sustainable business development, and targeted densification can go hand in hand, benefiting the population, the local economy, and the entire region."
