A new video series presents portraits of several employees of Coca‑Cola Switzerland who show how they are championing topics in their day-to-day work that are also important to our society.

Since 1936 Coca‑Cola has been producing locally in Switzerland. “You need top-quality raw materials, know-how, and passion.” – says Reto, Production Area Manager at Coca‑Cola Switzerland.

Episode #3: "That’s what ‘Swiss made’ means" – Reto, Production Area Manager

What is typical of Switzerland? “Being conscious of tradition, but still cosmopolitan,” says Reto, production department head at Coca‑Cola Switzerland. He is intimately familiar with food production: Reto, who is from a family of cheesemakers, apprenticed as a cheesemaker and previously worked at a chocolate factory.

The fact that he now works in beverage production for a global brand fills him with pride. After all, he says, Coca‑Cola is Swiss made, too, in a way: “We produce here using Swiss ingredients, our quality standards, and our passion.”

Swiss made since 1936

Coca‑Cola has been producing locally for Swiss consumers for over 80 years. Every year, about 400 million liters of beverages are produced in Dietlikon/Brüttisellen (Zurich Canton) and Vals (Graubünden Canton).

Eight out of ten products sold in Switzerland are produced here, with 95% of the ingredients used being sourced from Swiss suppliers, including the sugar, the carbonic acid, and the drinking and mineral water. Through its local activities, Coca‑Cola helps create 988 million francs in value and maintain 8,600 jobs.
