Coca-Cola launches coffee capsules from Costa Coffee in Switzerland

Costa Coffee has now arrived in Switzerland – much to the delight of all coffee lovers. Their coffee capsules embody the high quality standards of the famous coffee shop brand with Italian roots.

Only 1 in 20 of all coffee beans available worldwide meets Costa Coffee’s high standards. Because no one should have to settle for mediocre coffee. This quality standard is now also available in Switzerland – in capsule form.

Coffee capsules with barista quality

Costa Coffee’s Nespresso®-compatible coffee capsules are now available exclusively in over 900 Coop shops and online at coop.ch. They come in five varieties with different strengths and flavours: Signature Blend Espresso, Warming Blend Lungo, Lively Blend Ristretto, Signature Blend Lungo and Colombian Roast Espresso.

Exclusive partnership with Coop

The retail company Coop is a strong partner for the launch of Costa Coffee in Switzerland. Together, Coop and Costa Coffee are revitalising and enriching the coffee range available in Switzerland. Lorenz Haschemi, in charge of coffee at Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland, comments: “Anyone who goes into one of Costa Coffee’s more than 4,000 shops immediately gets a sense of the passion for coffee that defines this brand. The new coffee capsules bring this feeling into the households of all Swiss coffee lovers.”

Looking ahead to the near future, Coop and Costa Coffee are planning additional activities for consumers, including a Costa Coffee truck that will stop at several locations throughout Switzerland.

Sustainably produced and recyclable

Deeply rooted in Costa Coffee’s DNA is an awareness of sustainability. All Costa Coffee products are 100% Rainforest Alliance–certified and made with coffee beans from sustainable production. Costa Coffee’s coffee capsules are made of aluminium and are recyclable. To facilitate recycling, Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland works with Igora (Genossenschaft für Aluminiumrecycling Schweiz), which collects, recycles and reuses the capsules.

A world-famous brand comes to Switzerland

Costa Coffee is already known throughout Switzerland for its top-quality coffee: every fourth person in Switzerland knows the brand from their travels abroad. Costa Coffee is now finally bringing its coffee to Switzerland in the form of capsules. Further information on the market entry will follow at a launch event from 29 to 31 March 2022 at Zurich’s main railway station.
