Coca-Cola HBC is the world’s most sustainable beverage company

S&P, owner of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), ranks the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) as the world’s most sustainable beverage company. This development is based on a reassessment of the scores and submissions in the beverage sector in the context of the DJSI 2020.

This is the fifth time in the last seven years that Coca-Cola HBC has been recognised as the leading enterprise in the global beverage industry, and the tenth consecutive year in which Coca-Cola HBC has been featured among the top three.

Scores and rankings such as the DJSI make a significant contribution to signalling progress, demonstrating learning processes, and motivating teams. For this reason, we are thrilled to be receiving this recognition. At the same time, we are aware of the enormous challenges that society currently faces and will continue to take industry-leading measures to do our part.

For example, CCHBC Switzerland plans to develop Science-Based Targets (SBT) in the current year. We will be defining binding targets and start implementing them by 2022. With this scientific approach, we can further advance CO₂ reduction in a manner that is in line with global climate objectives.

Thanks to local initiatives, we can also make a significant contribution to creating a sustainable economy in Switzerland. For example, we are using electricity from 100% renewable sources at our bottling plants in Vals and Dietlikon.
