“2× Christmas” – happiness packed by Coca-Cola

Employees from Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland spent two days giving the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) a huge helping hand with the unpacking, sorting and distribution of donated food and toiletries for people in need in Switzerland.

Our employees worked together to unpack, sort, check and distribute around 3800 packages on 19 and 23 January. Every year, hundreds of volunteers and donors join us in the “2× Christmas” campaign to send gifts to around 40,000 people in Switzerland affected by poverty, helping to make their financial situation easier.

Employees from Coca-Cola HBC Switzerland have been involved in this campaign for many years. “For myself personally, any opportunity to help others and enrich their lives is a huge privilege”, enthuses Dragana Koruga-Ristic, People & Culture Director. “I’m very glad and proud that our employees participate in this campaign. It’s the best example of how we live up to one of our core corporate values, namely Caring”.

Poverty in Switzerland

War, rising energy costs, inflation – 8.5 percent of the Swiss population live in poverty. But what exactly does “affected by poverty mean? In Switzerland, we look not only at income per se, but also at social lifestyle – so anyone who can longer adequately participate in social life due to a lack of financial means also counts as being affected by poverty.

This is precisely the reason why Matthias, Managing Director Qwell, is so committed to the campaign:

We are aware of our corporate responsibility not only in the area of climate issues, but also in the social sphere. Our commitment to solidarity in our society therefore goes without saying
