September 2019 – The Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2019 (DJSI) awarded Coca‑Cola HBC as Europe's most sustainable beverage company. On a global level, the company climbed from third to second place – also thanks to the exemplary production in Switzerland.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is the most widely recognized benchmark for corporate sustainability. It assesses over 2,500 companies from 60 industries and around 50 countries. This is the sixth time within seven years that Coca‑Cola HBC reached the top spot in Europe, and already the ninth consecutive time that the company came in amount the top three beverage manufacturers worldwide.

Zoran Bogdanovic, CEO Coca‑Cola HBC, comments:  "We are honoured and proud that the commitment of our employees and partners to sustainable practices has again resulted in this recognition."

What does that mean for Coca‑Cola in Switzerland?

Coca‑Cola HBC Switzerland is a leader in the area of sustainability. For example, with VALSER, the company produces Switzerland's first climate-neutral mineral water. Furthermore, it gives every VALSER PET bottle a new life with its newly launched 100% recycled PET (rPET) bottles.

“This new distinction shows that we are on the right track with our sustainability agenda and motivates us to go even further”, says Patrick Wittweiler, Sustainability Manager for Coca‑Cola HBC Switzerland.
