Coca‑Cola HBC Switzerland is launching a programme to teach employees ways to save electricity and protect the environment as part of its contribution to EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), being held across Europe from 11-15 April 2011.
The programme, conducted in conjunction with the Swiss electricity company EKZ (Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zurich), will involve all members of staff at the head office in Bruettisellen and the bottling plant at Dietlikon.
“By explaining the importance of saving energy, and informing people about ways in which energy use can be reduced at home and in the workplace, we feel we can make a genuine contribution to improving the responsible use of electricity,” said Zoran Bogdanovic, General Manager Coca‑Cola HBC Switzerland.
“Through this initiative we are uniting with other members of the Coca‑Cola Hellenic Group in demonstrating our commitment to ensuring the sustainability of our operations, and of the communities we serve. Businesses in Austria, Greece, Romania, Italy, Northern Ireland, Poland and Serbia will also be carrying out activities.”
EU Sustainable Energy Week is an annual event which encourages people to learn about, discuss and actively engage in ways to improve energy efficiency, including introducing various forms of renewable energy.
